As golf season gets underway, I wanted to send a dedicated note here about a couple of very exciting signups we have upcoming for Fried Egg Golf Events.
Over the next two weeks, we are launching two awesome opportunities: our annual journey to Essex County Club north of Boston and our trip to Northern Michigan to play Kingsley Club and Belvedere Golf Club. The Essex event launches to Club TFE on Tuesday, March 18 and the Kingsley/Belvedere two-day launches on Tuesday, March 25. And while both trips are exciting strictly due to the clubs we’ll be playing for the event, they carry with them some additional opportunities that I want to make sure are well explained ahead of registration. Take a read below to see all that is going on with both of these trips!
As a reminder, all registrations occur at Noon ET and require the code CLUBTFE2025 to access the early registration period. Club TFE members can sign up for two spots during the early registration periods and the second person does not need to be a Club member. This includes the add-ons.

The Event:
Without exaggeration, I believe that the shots you hit at Essex County Club are not only the most dramatic on our schedule, but some of the most dramatic in the entire country. Designed and continually tweaked by Donald Ross, ECC is like stepping back in time. Its Golden Age charm can be felt everywhere from the locker room to the golf course, and yet the boldness in its routing goes beyond anything I’ve seen in the United States. Not only does Ross take on some of the boldest rock outcroppings you’ll ever see on the back nine, but he expertly utilizes the land’s sharp features on the front nine, creating a truly unique experience. Whether you are a golf diehard or just want to see the best courses in the world, a trip to Essex has to be on your bucket list. Our event gives you the opportunity to loop the course twice, with you and your partner needing to figure out how to get each other around during the afternoon alternate shot. And if you both want to hit some of the boldest shots on the course, like the dramatic tee shot on No. 18, I’ll happily turn a blind eye.
As if a trip to Essex weren’t enough, we’ve tossed in a few additional opportunities for those looking to make the most of their Boston experience. Both of these options are available as add-ons in our Event Hub and can be added to your cart when you purchase the event registration.
Cape Arundel Golf Club- September 21 - Just 90 minutes north of Essex County Club, Walter Travis’s design at Cape Arundel remains one of my favorite experiences in golf. The course maxes out under 6,000 yards, and yet its set of greens are amongst the best in the world. As Garrett Morrison wrote in his Club TFE Course Profile on Cape Arundel, “the green designs are so stupendously great.” We have 32 spots available at Cape Arundel the day before our event, the opportunity to experience two tremendous designs in New England.
The Kittansett Club & Boston Golf Club - September 23 & 24 - After our day at Essex, we head to the south shore of Boston for a two-day run at other riches of the Boston golf scene. First, we head to The Kittansett Club, another Ross original overlooking Buzzards Bay. We’ll stop by for some lunch ahead of the round and play in the early afternoon. The following day, we move up to a brilliant Gil Hanse original at Boston Golf Club. Tee times will begin in the mid morning, we’ll take a quick break for lunch, and then everyone will have the opportunity to play the club’s 9-hole short course in the afternoon. Caddies are required for both rounds and will be paid by the individual on the day of play. Please note that these two days are going to be offered as a package as just 24 spots are available for both courses.
This is a special event and offers a very unique format for Fried Egg Golf events. With the Ryder Cup finishing up in the days leading into our event, our two-day extravaganza rides that momentum with match play. The event will be split into four teams of roughly 24 golfers and the first three rounds will be a round-robin format. On Monday, everyone will play an 18-hole best-ball match and an 18-hole alternate-shot match at Kingsley Club. On Tuesday, we’ll play an 18-hole singles match in the morning at Belvedere Golf Club, regroup for lunch, tally up the total points, and have representatives from the top two teams play off to decide our team winners. In the afternoon, the course will be available for free play. This is the chance to play two world-class venues, one old school and one modern, in prime fall conditions with match play surging through the golf ecosystem. It’s sure to be a hell of a time and I hope you’ll consider joining in.
Ryder Cup Watch Party (Free) - September 28 - On Sunday afternoon, the day before our event, we are heading to Middlecoast Brewing in downtown Traverse City to catch the final stretch of the 2025 Ryder Cup. We have reserved space for everyone to come visit and we’ll be handing out drink tickets to those who are able to attend. Plan for a couple free beers on Fried Egg Golf and come enjoy the drama as Team U.S.A. and Team Europe battle it out on Sunday.
Kingsley Club Lodging - For those who want to take advantage of a unique lodging opportunity, we have the three cottages at Kingsley Club reserved for the nights of September 28 and September 29. Lodging is available for both single occupancy ($400/room per night) and double occupancy ($500/room per night). You will be able to reserve this as an add-on during registration so if you are interested, add the lodging to your cart before checking out. Please note that space is limited with just 12 rooms available.
I hope you’ll be able to join in for at least one of these exciting trips. Stay tuned for more information on the remainder of our event launch schedule as well, including events at Skokie Country Club, Old Barnwell, and Broomsedge Golf Club. Spots also remain available at our events at Lawsonia Links in Wisconsin and Essex County Country Club in New Jersey.
Please reach out with any questions. We’ll see you out there.
